Language courses abroad: Jobs

ESL - Language Schools organises language courses in Switzerland, France and Germany. ESL operates 4 French and German schools for adults and 10 course centres for children and teenagers, where French, German, Italian and English courses are offered.

For the 2012 season, ESL is currently looking for several directors for its holiday course centres.

Main tasks

• Managing a team of teachers and activity leaders
• Checking the quality of the services provided by the ESL education team
• Managing a course centre with a capacity of 80 to 150 students
• Organising sports and cultural activities

  
Required skills

• Ability to manage a team of teachers and activity leaders/monitors
• Professional experience in holiday course centres or similar structures
• Teaching experience or qualification
• Good language skills (French, German, English and Italian), according to the region and language(s) taught
• High sense of responsibility, organisation and initiative
• Ability to multitask and to deal with stress
• Knowledge of the area desired
• BAFD (Camp director certificate) is a plus

Leysin, Zug, Montreux, Valbonne s/Cannes, Paris-Igny, Freiburg, Berlin, Westerwald and Ascona

Start dates :

• Leysin Juniors & Teens, Westerwald, Berlin Teens, Freiburg Teens, Paris and Valbonne s/Cannes: 30th June - 19th August 2012
• Montreux: 7th July - 19th August 2012
• Zug: 7th July - 12th August 2012
• Ascona: 30th June - 5th August 2012

Prior to the start of the camp, the directors will receive compulsory training in Montreux from 16th to 20th April 2012.

Miscelleneous
Accommodation on-site is compulsory and organised by ESL

Required skills

• Good command of German and English.
• A good knowledge of French is a bonus.
• High sense of responsibility and initiative
• Ability to multitask and to deal with stress
• Keen interest in supervising teenagers

With the help of the centre director:

• Planning recreational activities for teenagers from all over the world, aged 8 to 18 or 13 to 17 years old, in a course centre with a capacity of up to 150 students.
• Organising and supervising daily sports and cultural activities.
• Managing a team of activity leaders.
• Entertaining students in the course centre during the day as well as in the evening.

Leysin, Zug, Valbonne s/Cannes, Paris-Igny and Westerwald

Start dates :

• Leysin Juniors & Teens, Westerwald, Paris and Valbonne s/Cannes: from 30th June 2012 to 19th August 2012
• Zug: from 7th July 2012 to 12th August 2012

Minimum duration:
1 week  

The employment period is preceded by a few days’ prior training in our course centre.

For our course centre in Ascona, ESL is currently looking for a dormitory supervisor.

Main tasks

• Supervising students coming from the whole world, aged 8 to 14 or 13 to 17 years old, from 10.30 p.m. to 6.30 a.m.
• Ensuring the security of the residence and of the personal belongings of the residents, from 10.30 p.m. to 6.30 a.m.
• Taking care of the students in case of health problems during the night

Required skills

• Professional experience in holiday camps or similar structures
• Interest in teenagers, ability to work in a team
• Good knowledge of English is a must
• Knowledge of other languages is a plus
• Sense of responsibility and outstanding ability to deal with stress
• First-aid certificate, fire fighter certificate or any other qualifications are welcome

• Supervising various theme evenings

Required skills :

• Experience in holiday camps or in similar structures
• Experience or training in teaching English as a foreign language desired
• Keen interest in sport
• First-aid certificate, qualification in child supervision, swimming certificate, etc. are a plus
