Summer Camps

English Teachers & Activity leaders for our holiday course centres

For the 2014 season, ESL is currently looking for some English Teachers & Activity leaders for our holiday course centres

Main tasks :
  • Teaching English as a foreign language to young students from other countries
  • Supervising the activities and excursions organised by ESL
  • Supervising various theme evenings

Required skills :
  • Experience in holiday camps or in similar structures
  • Experience or training in teaching English as a foreign language desired
  • Keen interest in sport
  • First-aid certificate, qualification in child supervision, swimming certificate, etc. are a plus

Location of our course centres :
  • France : Paris-Igny

Start dates : From the 4th August until the 8th August 2014
Minimal duration: 1 week

Miscellaneous:
  • As a course instructor, you will not be accommodated on site. You must go to the centre ever morning to teach for 4 to 5 periods (8.30am-12.30pm) 
  • If you are hired, you must send us a 2014 criminal record check

English course instructor

For the summer season 2014, ESL is looking for several English course instructor for its course centre in Igny (Essonne, Paris area).

Your role:
As a course instructor, your role is to teach English from Monday to Friday, for 4 to 5 periods per day, to non English-speaking students between 13 and 17 years. You should make the content of the course lively and stimulating in order to stir their interest and teach them new things. Students will then have a chance to apply their new skills with the rest of the ESL team and the other students at the centre throughout the day.

Your mission:
Preparing and teaching stimulating English classes focussing on communication
Watching over the safety and wellbeing of students
Enforcing camp rules and checking student attendance in class
Reporting any problems, needs/requests to change level, late arrivals to the Camp Manager
Preparing and correcting the weekly test, which is marked, in order to give a certificate to every student upon departure

Your profile:
  • Previous experience in teaching classes or giving private tuition or drilling to teenagers is desired
  • CELTA/Trinity TESOL are a plus
  • Previous successful experience with teenagers (13-17 years)
  • English mother tongue, good command of French
  • High sense of responsibility and organisation
  • First-aid certificate, swimming certificate and driver’s licence are a plus
