ESL LEYSIN - Spring camp for French studies

What a great Easter weekend and what an amazing time our students are experiencing at our course Centre in Leysin. At this time each year, ESL Language Schools opens the doors of the popular spring teen’s camp and welcomes a high rate of returning students.
This destination offers excellent conditions located in the stunning Swiss Alps.

With summer fast approaching and our camp having been blessed with gorgeous weather, the happy students from all over the world have already started experiencing some summer sports activities.

New accommodation option for the students of our French school in Montreux : Le Studio

Since 1st June, our school for adult students in Montreux proposes a new accommodation option: the studio.

Equipped with a central room, a small kitchen and a bathroom, these studios are available to our students for stays of one week upwards. Perfectly suiting people on their own or travelling as a couple who wish to have maximum independence during their stay, this type of accommodation assures comfort and tranquility when you return from the classes followed at ESL or after having discovered the regional specificities of the Swiss Riviera.

The spring ESL 50+ programme is launched in Lyon!

Just like every year, during the spring session of the ESL 50+ programme, a varied programme awaits our senior clientele who are keen to make linguistic and cultural discoveries.

From Monday, 10th May, a date is made with our students in order to perfect their French language skills within a small group. This is completed by a choice cultural programme taking place each afternoon, devised by our Lyon school director, Ms. Romy Saint-Denis and all her team.

Welcome to ESL-Lyon !

The FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) exams proposed by ESL-SCHOOLS.

Within the framework of their French studies, our students have the choice to prepare and present themselves for 3 types of exams recognised by the French Ministry of National Education.

DELF / DALF

The DELF (A1 to B2) and the DALF (C1 and C2) are official diplomas of the French Ministry of National Education. There is an exam for each of the 6 levels of the framework of languages. The preparation courses are organised in our schools in Lyon and Montreux.

TCF

The TCF is an thermometer-type exam which situates the candidate on the European scale of levels (CEFR). It takes place once a month in our schools in Lyon and Montreux and is ideal for students who wish to obtain recognised certification, even during a short-duration stay.

e-TEF

The e-TEF, the electronic version of the TEF, of the very reputed Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, offers great flexibility and allows each student enrolled in an ESL course to certify his/her level of French in an official and reliable way. Our school in Montreux is the test centre for the e-TEF and proposes 3 exam sessions per month for which it is possible to present oneself without specific previous preparation.

The 13th Francophonie Summit will take place from 22nd to 24th October 2010 in Montreux !

Switzerland will host the 13th Francophonie Summit, as was decided by the Ministerial Conference of la Francophonie, whose 25th session took place in Paris on 15th and 16th December. It is in Montreux that the 70 heads of State and government of la Francophonie will meet from 22nd to 24th October 2010.

The International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) is an institution which organises political relations and cooperation between the States sharing the use of the French language. The OIF groups together 70 States representing more than a third of the United Nations Member States.

ESL is looking forward to the holding of this prestigious summit in Montreux, which has been home to the Ecole Suisse de Langues for 13 years now.
This will be an excellent opportunity to broadcast the Swiss francophone identity internationally and to arouse desire to study French in French-speaking Switzerland.

ESL – SCHOOLS / Winter special offer -10%

Learn French as a foreign language (Français Langue Etrangère (FLE)) in Switzerland or in France whilst benefitting from advantageous enrolment conditions !

From 1st November 2009 until 31st January 2010, take advantage of our winter special offer, valid in the schools in Montreux (CH) and Lyon (F).

We are offering a reduction of 10% on all the course and accommodation fees, with the exception of transfer and enrolment fees.

ESL Valbonne s/Cannes, our new location!

From summer 2010, the ESL programme on the French Côte d’Azur will be held in a new course centre, located in the hills above Cannes, overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.

This campus offers an excellent infrastructure for classes, accommodation and is very well-equipped with sports facilities. Our full activity programme will assure each student an unforgettable time on the French Riviera, completed by very attractive packages of tennis or scuba diving.

The immediate access to/from Nice International Airport will guarantee an easy journey to everyone flying to this destination.

The biggest Christmas market in Switzerland !

From 26 November to 24 December 2009 in Montreux.

Located on the shores of Lake Leman, it is the most beautiful Christmas Market with its 150 artisans and merchants. Gift ideas by the thousands, chalets decorated and illuminated in the grand tradition of Christmas. Tastings of local specialities in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Bern, Canada will be the guest of honour for 2009. The discovery of typical Canadian crafts, cuisine and culture awaits you in the numerous chalets on the Place du Marché. Our French and English language courses for junior students from 10 to 14 years, will be held in a new course centre in Leysin from next summer onwards.

According to the success of the enrolments sent by our worldwide partners over the last 3 years, we decided to double the capacity of this programme. Additionally, following numerous requests from our clients, we will expand the age range to younger students, from 8 to 14 years.

In order to do so, we will organise this programme in our course centre of "Le Central Residence" in Leysin, which we already use for the ESL–Leysin programme for teenagers in the autumn.

Over the next 2 weeks, one of the most famous music festivals on the planet will take place in Montreux.

The banks of Lake Geneva will play host to the stages where great musicians and bands will produce their finest notes for an enthusiastic international public.

The students of ESL-Montreux will surely enjoy this great time, as all the concerts, workshops and events organised by the Montreux Jazz Festival are located 5 minutes’ walking distance from the school.

A spectacular event in the city

“La Fête des Lumières” is an historical tradition dating from 1850. Year after year, this cultural event draws a considerable numbrer of spectators, from all backgrounds. In fact, the inhabitants of Lyon as much as visitors passing through meet up during musical, theatrical, audiovisual and above all technical activities in order to enjoy this spectacular embellishment of the city’s architecture.
