EVENTS IN MONTREUX AND REGION

Cully Jazz Festival: from 05.04.13 until 13.04.13
The 10-day Cully Jazz annual music festival has presented concerts on 3 stages since 1983. The festival OFF is a great showcase for young artists, who play in the city’s cafés and famous wine cellars.

Animai Festival in Vevey: from 16.05.13 until 20.05.13
Designed for children, families, teenagers and young people, the festival presents concerts, performances and family shows in an idyllic setting on the banks of Lake Geneva.

Montreux Volley Master: from 28.05.13 until 02.06.13
The Montreux Volley Master is a one-week competition between the best women’s volleyball teams in the world.

EVENTS IN LYON

Moissons d’avril: from 29.03.13 until 14.05.13
Moisson d’avril is an event dedicated to puppeteers and their art. Open to everyone, this biennial event presents some 15 performers in various venues throughout the city. 

Les Nuits Sonores: du 07.05.13 au 12.05.13
Nuits Sonores is a 4-day electronic music festival in Lyon, France. A wide range of other disciplines are also represented, including design, visual creation and digital culture. 

Lyon BD Festival: from 14.06.13 until 16.06.13
The Lyon comic book festival is celebrating its 8th anniversary this year. This 3-day festival is a major event in the comic book world, bringing together thousands of amateurs. 
 
EVENTS IN BERLIN

Berlin Half Marathon: 07.04.13
Enter Berlin’s half marathon, a 21 km race around the greatest monuments of the city. 

Carnival of Culture: from 17.05.13 until 20.05.13
This carnival showcases the variety of cultures present in Berlin, the most international of all German cities. There is a parade on the Sunday. 

Christopher Street Day: 22.06.13
Half a million people take to the streets to demonstrate to support the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Attracting a large audience, the event includes a parade with colourful floats and music blasting out. 

EVENTS IN FREIBURG-IM-BREISGAU

Freiburg Marathon: 07.04.13
The Freiburg Marathon celebrates its 10th anniversary this year: some 1,000 entrants and 10,000 spectators are expected.

Frühjahrsmess': from 17.05.13 until 27.05.13
This 10-day carnival takes place in May at the heart of Freiburg city centre. Enjoy the rides, roller coasters and bumper cars.

Zelt Musik Festival (ZMF): from 26.06.13 until 14.07.13
The ZMF has enlivened summer nights in Freiburg since 1983. For more than 2 weeks, it offers cultural events for all ages, including rock, pop and classical music, theatre, DJs and children programmes.  

We are very happy to share with you our latest achievements, with two of our ESL Schools receiving the following acknowledgements.

At ESL Lyon, following the FLE organisation inspection, our school has been accredited with the highest ranking of 3 stars for all services we offer including academics, customer service, facilities and management.

ESL Freiburg has reached the best student satisfaction score among all schools in Germany, after a poll carried out in 2011 by the web platform Education Stars.

Congratulations to these two schools and to all of the staff members for their constant work and commitment devoted to maintaining the high quality service provided.

What a great Easter weekend and what an amazing time our students are experiencing at our course Centre in Leysin. At this time each year, ESL Language Schools opens the doors of the popular spring teen’s camp and welcomes a high rate of returning students.
This destination offers excellent conditions located in the stunning Swiss Alps.

With summer fast approaching and our camp having been blessed with gorgeous weather, the happy students from all over the world have already started experiencing some summer sports activities.

Perfectly suiting people on their own or travelling as a couple who wish to have maximum independence during their stay, this type of accommodation assures comfort and tranquility when you return from the classes followed at ESL or after having discovered the regional specificities of the Swiss Riviera.

From Monday, 10th May, a date is made with our students in order to perfect their French language skills within a small group. This is completed by a choice cultural programme taking place each afternoon, devised by our Lyon school director, Ms. Romy Saint-Denis and all her team.

Welcome to ESL-Lyon !

DELF / DALF

The DELF (A1 to B2) and the DALF (C1 and C2) are official diplomas of the French Ministry of National Education. There is an exam for each of the 6 levels of the framework of languages. The preparation courses are organised  in our schools in Lyon and Montreux.

TCF

The TCF is an thermometer-type exam which situates the candidate on the European scale of levels (CEFR). It takes place once a month in our schools in Lyon and Montreux and is ideal for students who wish to obtain recognised certification, even during a short-duration stay.

e-TEF

The e-TEF, the electronic version of the TEF, of the very reputed Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, offers great flexibility and allows each student enrolled in an ESL course to certify his/her level of French in an official and reliable way. Our school in Montreux is the test centre for the e-TEF and proposes 3 exam sessions per month for which it is possible to present oneself without specific previous preparation.

ESL is looking forward to the holding of this prestigious summit in Montreux, which has been home to the Ecole Suisse de Langues for 13 years now.
This will be an excellent opportunity to broadcast the Swiss francophone identity internationally and to arouse desire to study French in French-speaking Switzerland.

From 26 November to 24 December 2009 in Montreux.

Located on the shores of Lake Leman, it is the most beautiful Christmas Market with its 150 artisans and merchants. Gift ideas by the thousands, chalets decorated and illuminated in the grand tradition of Christmas. Tastings of local specialities in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Bern, Canada will be the guest of honour for 2009. The discovery of typical Canadian crafts, cuisine and culture awaits you in the numerous chalets on the Place du Marché. According to the success of the enrolments sent by our worldwide partners over the last 3 years, we decided to double the capacity of this programme. Additionally, following numerous requests from our clients, we will expand the age range to younger students, from 8 to 14 years.

In order to do so, we will organise this programme in our course centre of "Le Central Residence" in Leysin, which we already use for the ESL–Leysin programme for teenagers in the autumn.
