French + cuisine

Make the most of your stay and book our “French + cuisine” break. Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France and is famous for its Michelin-starred chefs: Paul Bocuse, named “Chef of the Century”, Nicolas Le Bec and Philippe Geauvrau to name but a few.

Lyon also hosts the most important cooking competitions such as le Bocuse d’Or, la Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie (the World Pastry Cup) or the International Catering, Hotel and Food Trade Fair.

During your stay, whether with your host family or whilst walking around the city, you will experience the culinary heritage of the people of Lyon and have your taste buds tickled.

ESL-Lyon would like you to experience and improve your skills in French cuisine with a cookery course during which you will prepare great dishes and taste them with your cooking companions.

And that’s not all! So that you get the chance to discover the products which have made our city what it is today, you will visit the famous Halles Paul Bocuse and taste the best of Lyon, for example: “andouillettes”, the infamous Lyon sausage, “quenelles” (meat or fish dumplings) or the famous Saint-Marcellin cheese.

We also have the pleasure of inviting you to dine at one of Paul Bocuse’s renowned brasseries where the traditionally and delicately prepared dishes will bring your taste buds to life.
