A language leader
Perhaps it is little surprise that a country with four languages should lead the way in language teaching. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which has allowed for significant progress in the teaching of languages, and in particular of French as a foreign language (FLE), was born in 1991 from a Swiss initiative.
